On January 12, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of the Apostle Luke in Birmingham, creating an atmosphere of reverence and spiritual joy. Bishop Maximos of Melitene led the service, with Protopresbyter Christos Stefanou and Father George Tsiapourdis concelebrating.
After the Divine Liturgy, the congregation gathered at a nearby lake for the Great Blessing of the Waters, following the traditional custom with splendor. A festive meal took place in the community hall, where Bishop Maximos blessed the Vasilopita, and traditional carols were sung by the attendees.
During the event, a presentation showcased images from the missionary work of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa in Sierra Leone, enlightening the faithful about the Church’s significant missionary efforts on the African continent.
