On the morning of Friday, December 20, 2024, an Archieratical co-celebration took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Demetrios to honor the feast day of Saint Ignatius the God-Bearer.
The service was led by the newly enthroned Metropolitan Astios of Berat, along with Bishop Anastasios of Kruja and clergy from the Holy Metropolis.
As part of the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Astios appointed two clergy members of the Metropolis as Economos, recognizing their dedicated service to the local Church and their pastoral work.
Prior to the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a memorial was held for the late Metropolitan Ignatius of Berat, whose name day coincided with the feast day. A Trisagion was also conducted at the late hierarch’s gravesite.
