Leah is often referred to as the wife of Yaakov Avinu, symbolizing a cosmic structure that parallels the marriages of Yaakov with Leah and Rachel. She represents the connection to the infinite and higher levels, while Rachel represents grounding in the physical world.
Despite being competitors for Yaakov’s affection, Leah and Rachel display unwavering devotion and kindness towards each other. Leah’s selflessness and generosity are highlighted in various Midrashic tales, earning her the honor of being the ancestor of future kings and high priests of Israel.
