On November 30, 2024, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the Divine Liturgy in the St. Theodosius Stavropegial Monastery in Kyiv to commemorate the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.
The service was co-served by Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Barskyi, Metropolitan Yevstratiy of Bilotserkiv, Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilskyi, Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkivskyi, Abbot Archimandrite Makariy, and other clergy invited by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, the government, the people, and the souls of all fallen defenders and civilians.
Metropolitan Epifaniy delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer for Ukraine during this challenging time.
At the end of the service, a prayer service to St. Andrew the First-Called was conducted. Metropolitan Epifaniy also congratulated Archbishop Lavrentiy on his 20th episcopal ordination anniversary and 65th birthday, honoring him with the Order of St. Nicholas and presenting a commemorative gift.
