Patriarch Daniel of Romania exercised his right to vote on Sunday evening during the first round of the Romanian presidential elections.
The Patriarch cast his ballot at approximately 5:30 PM at Polling Station No. 661, located within the “Ienăchiță Văcărescu” Secondary School in Bucharest.
On November 24, citizens across Romania headed to the polls to elect the country’s president. Additionally, voters in Bucharest participated in a local referendum. By 5:00 PM, voter turnout had exceeded 41%, according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority.
Earlier this year, the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church issued guidelines for clergy and faithful regarding participation in the 2024 European Parliament, local, legislative, and presidential elections, encouraging active civic engagement.
