The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew left today, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, for Luxembourg on a short private visit at the invitation of Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium.
Accompanying the Ecumenical Patriarch are Tritevon Varnavas and Pantelis Vigas, Megas Chartophylax.
During the Patriarch’s absence, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi has been appointed as Locum Tenens. Along with Grand Protosyncellos Gregory, they saw off the Patriarch at Constantinople Airport.
The Ecumenical Patriarch is expected to return on Saturday, and on Sunday, he will lead the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Valino.
