On Saturday, October 12, Metropolitan Georgios of Kitros, Katerini, and Platamon, who also serves as a Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, visited the Theological School of Belgrade during his trip to Serbia for an International Theological Conference. During his visit, he met with his longtime friend, Professor Nenad Milosevits, a renowned Liturgy scholar at the Belgrade Theological School.
The professors and students warmly welcomed Metropolitan Georgios at the School’s entrance. They toured the Church of St. John the Theologian, which provides practical training for theology students. A productive exchange of ideas and experiences took place in a meeting room, with Greek Protopresbyter Fr. Panagiotis Karatasios, currently serving in Belgrade, also in attendance.
It is worth mentioning that the Holy Metropolis of Kitros regularly hosts groups of students from various clerical schools affiliated with the Serbian Patriarchate, many of whom go on to study at the Theological School of Belgrade.
During the visit, Metropolitan Georgios accepted an invitation for scientific collaboration and academic exchanges, committing to furthering this partnership both personally and through the Department of Theology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This visit underscores the deepening ties between the Greek and Serbian ecclesiastical and academic communities.
