Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew paid a visit to Taronga Zoo in Sydney on Tuesday, October 8, where he enjoyed observing the diverse wildlife of Australia.
Following his zoo tour, the Patriarch attended a lunch hosted by the Greek Welfare Centre of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, expressing gratitude for their dedication to serving the community with love and faith.
In his address, he highlighted the importance of active faith in Jesus Christ and commended the Greek Welfare Centre for its continuous support to those in need, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic.
The Patriarch praised Archbishop Makarios of Australia and General Director Mr. Stylianos Magdalopoulos for their leadership, as well as the staff and volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the organization’s mission.
He concluded his speech by extending blessings and warm wishes to all the contributors and attendees, acknowledging the quality and compassion that defines the work of the Greek Welfare Centre.
Alongside Archbishop Makarios and Director Mr. Magdalopoulos, the lunch was attended by other distinguished guests, including Metropolitans and officials from the Patriarchal entourage.
