During a canonical visit to the clergy and faithful in Canada, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia was informed about the devastating floods in Herzegovina. In response, he instructed the Religious Charitable Guardianship in Belgrade to provide emergency aid. The Patriarch directed 100,000 euros to be sent to the most vulnerable families through the Eparchy of Zahum-Herzegovina.
The aid distribution will prioritize those in need, regardless of their religion or nationality. Patriarch Porfirije offered prayers for the flood victims, asking for comfort for their families and for the floods to cease to prevent further damage to properties that have been passed down through generations.
In a show of solidarity, the Patriarch called on all peoples of the Balkans, especially those in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to support each other during these difficult times, stressing the importance of unity.
