At the beginning of September 2024, a delegation from the Holy Archdiocese of Albania, led by Metropolitan Nikolaos of Apollonia and Fier, visited Greece for a three-day stay from September 1 to 3. They stayed at the Holy Hermitage of Saints Augustine and Seraphim of Sarov in Fokida.
The delegation, consisting of Metropolitan Nikolaos, six clergymen, and 35 lay leaders, was sent with the blessing of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana, Durres, and All Albania. Their purpose was to connect with clergy in Greece who are actively involved in youth ministry and to learn strategies for engaging young people with Christ and the Church.
Their time in Trikorfo, Fokida, was a spiritually rejuvenating experience for the Albanian delegation. Elder Nektarios shared his wisdom and spiritual teachings with them, aiming to pass on a legacy of selfless love for the youth.
Additionally, the delegation had fruitful discussions with Archimandrite Augustinos Syros, who is responsible for youth ministry in the Holy Metropolis of Fokida. They learned about the camp’s activities, age groups, and approach to spiritual and organizational matters.
The participants were deeply touched by the love, respect, and dedication shown by the fathers of the Holy Monastery, experiencing joy, humility, prayer, and self-denial during their stay.
