The delegation from the Romanian Patriarchate, currently in Cyprus with the relics of St. Cyprian from the Church of Zlătari in Bucharest, paid a visit to the official representation of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Nicosia on Monday.
Led by Auxiliary Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, the delegation was welcomed by Metropolitan Timotheos of Vostra, Exarch of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Cyprus.
“The Church of Cyprus is known for its hospitality, as seen not only through the presence of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem’s representation here but also in the opportunity for many Romanian priests to serve in Orthodox churches in Cyprus,” stated Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul.
Expressing gratitude towards Metropolitan Timotheos, Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul acknowledged the progress made in establishing a church and a headquarters for the mission in Cyprus.
In response, Metropolitan Timotheos praised Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul and emphasized the importance of humility in all endeavors, attributing their achievements to God’s guidance.
He also conveyed his greetings to Patriarch Daniel and commended the Romanian clergy and faithful in both Cyprus and Jerusalem.
During their visit, the Romanian Patriarchate delegation also toured the Monastery of St. Heraclides, located near Politiko and Tamassos.
