On September 1, 2024, Patriarch Daniil of Bulgaria led the Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Nedelya. Also present were bishops Gerasim of Melniški, Polycarp of Belogradchish, Pachomius of Branitsky, and Isaak of Velbazhda, along with several Archimandrites, cathedral clergy, and deacons.
The church singers, under the direction of Dr. Andrey Kasabov, performed the hymns during the service, while the Metropolitan Cathedral choir provided musical accompaniment.
During the Communion Canon, the Patriarch’s District Message was read, marking the start of the Church New Year and the Feast of Indiction.
In his sermon, Patriarch Daniil spoke about the significance of the day, emphasizing the importance of the New Ecclesiastical Year and the birth of Jesus Christ in restoring the world from sin.
After the service, a hymn was sung in honor of Patriarch Daniil and the Holy Synod, recognizing their dedicated service over the years.
