On Friday, August 30, 2024, Patriarch Daniel led a special co-liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Sofia to observe the feast day of the translation of the saint’s holy relics. The ceremony was attended by Bishops Melnik, Belogradchik, and Branitsa, as well as Archimandrite Vladimir Tishtkuk, the representative of the Moscow Patriarchate in Sofia.
During the Divine Liturgy, many worshippers received communion. Patriarch Daniel concluded the service with a sermon reflecting on the life and faith of Saint Alexander Nevsky, emphasizing the enduring importance of Orthodox Christianity and encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their faith amid modern challenges.
Patriarch Daniel also noted that this year marks the centennial of the consecration of the Patriarchal Church and offered blessings, praying for God’s continued guidance and mercy on all in attendance.
