Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, currently on a visit to his hometown of Imbros, had a warm welcome for Ahmet Davutoğlu, former Prime Minister of Turkey and founder of the Future Party, at his residence on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Former Prime Minister Davutoğlu fondly recalled his previous visits to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 2012, during his time as Turkey’s Foreign Minister, and to the Athens Imbrian Association in 2013.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of books and gifts between the Patriarch and his distinguished guest.
Metropolitan Kirillos of Imbros and Tenedos, who had welcomed Davutoğlu in the village of Agioi Theodoroi, also attended the breakfast.
