Archbishop Irineu of Alba Iulia delivered a powerful message on Sunday, August 11, stating, “We live in a world marked by moral crisis and terrifying chaos. Around us, there is pollution, climate change, natural disasters, violence, wars, and epidemics, which make us understand that the wrath of God is upon the children of disobedience, as the Holy Apostle Paul expressed.”
He further warned that the events of the Flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah could happen again if God continues to be disregarded and blasphemed.
Archbishop Irineu emphasized the importance of returning to God before it’s too late, recognizing Him as the Sovereign of the world and the universe. He encouraged faith, prayer, and repentance, quoting the Psalmist, “Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders!”
He expressed faith in God’s ability to transform evil into good, weakness into strength, sin into forgiveness, and defeat into victory.
Archbishop Irineu shared his message in Băsești, Maramureș County, his hometown.
