On July 12, 2024, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Topčider in honor of the temple feast day.
During his sermon, the Patriarch emphasized the importance of true love, drawing inspiration from the example set by the apostles Peter and Paul. He highlighted the significance of loving God above all else and encouraged the congregation to act in accordance with this love, leading to a life free of fear and full of compassion towards others.
Reflecting on the apostle Peter’s affirmation of love for God, the Patriarch reminded the faithful that even in moments of weakness or distraction, their foundation of love for God will guide them back through repentance and self-awareness.
