Following the service at the Monastery in Balikli, the Ecumenical Patriarch visited the Church of the Community of Kontoskali, which was celebrating the feast of the Great Martyr Kyriaki. Metropolitan Theoklitos of Stagoi and Meteora presided over the Divine Liturgy at the request of the Ecumenical Patriarch, who is currently visiting Constantinople with a group of pilgrims from his diocese.
Reflecting on his recent meeting with Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus at the Holy Monastery in Balikli, the Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his deep honor for the Archbishop’s visit. He emphasized the importance of strengthening Pan-Orthodox unity, a central focus of the Patriarchate, and reaffirmed his commitment to this cause.
During his speech, the Ecumenical Patriarch also mentioned the inter-Christian initiatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, including recent visits to northern Italy and the Vatican. Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria and Alexandra Tsitsekoglou, President of the Ecclesiastical Committee, addressed the Patriarch, with Metropolitan Theoklitos expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to officiate at the celebrating Church.
