This morning, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, along with representatives of local Orthodox Churches and their delegations, gathered for prayer during the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saint Kyriaki. The Patriarch blessed the faithful and conducted a Trisagion for the late Patriarch of Bulgaria, Neofit, whose tomb is located near the Church.
Ecumenical Patriarch has been in Sofia since Saturday evening, June 29, at the invitation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church to attend the enthronement of its new Primate.
The Patriarch arrived at Sofia International Airport yesterday evening from Aktion and was welcomed by Metropolitan Grigorije of Vratsa, as well as the Ambassador of Greece and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bulgaria.
