On Saturday, June 29, the registration process for participants in the Patriarchal Electoral Church Council (EPC) at the Patriarchate of Bulgaria began. The council is scheduled to take place tomorrow. Registration commenced at 10:00 a.m. in the Office of the Holy Synod, located in the hall of the Supreme Church Council, under the supervision of the Credentials Commission.
The Credentials Commission members include: Metropolitan Arsenii of Sliven, Angel Angelov, Geordi Dimitrov, Deacon Kostadin Boychin, Ivan Mlechkov, Neli Peshakova, and Maria Vukashinova.
Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora, the council’s speaker, extended congratulations to the commission members and wished them a productive session.
At 6:00 p.m. local time today, a solemn vespers service will be held in the ancient church of St. Sophia by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop. The service will be attended by heads and representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches, along with their delegations and other guests.
